The Willowdale Steeplechase, Inc.
The Willowdale Steeplechase is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 1993 with the mission of preserving the tradition of steeplechase racing and maintaining open spaces in a community devoted to horsemanship, sportsmanship and family-oriented activities. The Willowdale Steeplechase’s philanthropic focus to “Better the Lives of Humans and Horses” seeks out those worthy causes that share its goals and interests.
New Bolton Center
The New Bolton Center, founded in 1952, is Penn Veterinary Medicine’s large animal campus, where the George D. Widener Hospital provides a wide array of diagnostic and treatment services for horses and other large animals. New Bolton Center also contains one of the largest equine surgical facilities in the world. The clinic is one of the busiest veterinary hospitals in the nation, seeing more than 6,000 patients annually, while its Field Service visits more than 19,000 patients a year. Approximately 100 students graduate each year to become private practitioners, research scientists or specialists through internships and residencies at New Bolton Center or other veterinary teaching hospitals
Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc.
Quest Therapeutic Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides therapy services to enhance the development of children with special needs in the greater Delaware Valley. Quest specializes in providing hippotherapy, from the Greek word, hippos, meaning treatment with the help of a horse. Licensed, pediatric therapists serve children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism and developmental delays, using the horse as part of an overall treatment plan to achieve patient life goals.
